D A D B L O G S
A dad blog by a geek dad with two geeky kids.
Are you one of those dads whose concept of casual dressing include wearing loose t-shirts and pants, baseball caps and flip-flops? Yes? Oh well, now is the time for you to wake up! Looking good during dress down activities may sound unusual but definitely not unimportant. In fact, it can work for your advantage for whatever reason. Perhaps, you will be attending a parent-teacher conference or meeting a potential client in a sports game. Then, you must dress relaxed but be sure the authority or respect factor is not sacrificed. (Look at casual-looking dad (David Beckham to the left.) Just like everything else, relaxed clothing comes in trends. Appealing as they are, trendy clothes do not make core pieces for men’s wardrobe. Why? It is because they can be worn only for a short time. Remember, you are looking for clothes from which you can benefit for years and can mix and match with varied accessories. The same is the case for logo shirts which promote products, services, companies or educational institutions. They simply serve as great uniforms. There are some who think that brand is everything for successful casual dressing. That is partially true as most clothes made of quality materials are branded. Nonetheless, you must be aware whether the branded clothes you are buying are worth the money you are spending. You might just be paying for the designer’s name and not the sophisticated style that you need. Aiming for the slim fit? Rethink before finally going for it. Clothes in slim fit work for males with trimmed bodies. If you weigh some pounds bigger than slim, choose a size that is not too loose and hugs your body a bit. When shopping clothes for your casual dressing attire, always have a friend around who can give you meaningful suggestions. It is better to look friends who dress better than you do. They can help you out. Read fashion magazines, designer’s blogs or join fashion forums online. Have a haircut in a salon and have your hair styled in a way that complements the shape of your face and your facial features. Follow a grooming regimen religiously for you to look fresh. |
