When discipline among children is talked about, most people think of it as the primary duty of every mother. In truth, discipline is and must be teamwork of both parents. Discipline is not a punishment. It is the way of raising children a) to know right from wrong; b) to have a trusting relationship with their parents; and c) to learn new things in the right perspective. Most dads are not you to disciplining their children. The greatest way to start with it is through positive parenting. You need to provide kids with positive attention when they’re well-behaved and doing well in school and at home. Praise them and encourage them to continue being so. Keeping quiet and paying attention to kids only when they do something bad is not advisable. It deprives kids of their right to be noticed and valued by you. Moving forward build a relationship with your kids. Invest effort and time to get closer to them. Understand their interests and preferences in finding friends. Doing this will make them feel important. Moreover, disciplining them will be easier for you because you will have a first-hand knowledge of the factors affecting their behaviour.
