Fitness boxing continues to gain popularity among athletes and non-athletes today for many reasons. Surveys show that the top of these reasons is to lose weight fast while gaining more muscle mass. Improved strength, freedom from injury and mental toughness are other considerations which convince more people to give it a try.
Fitness boxing was accidentally discovered by a professional boxing trainer who thought that the exercises with which he train his boxers can be modified for the benefit ordinary people looking for an effective means to shed off the extra pounds at a shorter period of time. From then on, a number of adaptations were developed into classes which usually last from 45 minutes to an hour. Each class is composed of varied exercises in abrupt and intense succession which allows 40 second breaks in between. Jump rope training is the first activity that will be introduced to you once you sign up for a class. This one of the oldest boxing exercises which continue to change work wonders in the bodies of boxers. Although jumping rope looks simple, it brings out speed and agility in an individual while his heart is put into work. As part of the warm up activity that will set your muscles in functioning mode, you would be asked to imagine a person throwing punches at you. In response, you are to make blocking and offensive moves to protect yourself. This is called shadow boxing which is another activity that strengthens the body. Have you ever heard of bag training? This is another trademark of the sport. Being a combination of strength and aerobic actions, it sets all body parts to work. But if you want to make the most out of this training, learn first the basic stances and punches. Doing so would keep you from injuries as you attack the bag with your arms or feet. Jogging, star jumps, sit-ups and press-ups compose the aerobic exercises which characterize a complete boxing training. Again, even none-athletes can do this to manage their weight. These activities promote muscle build up and enhance stamina too. Other aerobic activities may be added if you want to strengthen certain parts of your body. No other activity mixes sport and aptness together the great way than a fitness boxing regime. You can improve your health conditions without losing interest after some time because it is an enjoyable workout which provides excellent results in a short period.
