D A D B L O G S
A dad blog by a geek dad with two geeky kids.
Being a dad is very much different from being a dad. The latter requires more preparation emotionally and mentally. To some husbands or men, preparation comes easily. Some, on the other hand, need years of preparation as they try to strip themselves of personal issues that can affect their parenting. Have you been married for a couple of years? Are you thinking if you’re now fit to be a father? You will know that you’re ready for fatherhood if… You’re fully committed to your wife – Although single parent families or homes are well accepted in our society today, children still need both parents in order to grow up happy. Let’s face it kids with separate parents suffer greatly. You’re bringing into the world a new human being and not just a bundle of joy. If you’re not ready to commit yourself to the labour of raising a child, then don’t do it. You can put someone’s need first in your life – Parenting is all about making sacrifices for your children, for your family. Can you sacrifice the hours you spend playing video games to take care of your toddler? Can you not buy yourself new clothes just to pay for children’s school fees? You exude maturity and good judgment – Evaluate how you make decisions in life, how you budget your money and how you take responsibility for everything. A father is someone who needs to be mature enough to be depended upon. A father can’t blame others for any misfortune that befalls his family. He must take responsibility even though things don’t happen as expected. Comments are closed.
