A dad blog by a geek dad with two geeky kids.
Most people are deprived of the opportunity to succeed in life because they can’t seem to organize the things happening around them. Instead of accomplishing something, they end up feeling overwhelmed in most situations. If you experience the same, decide to break free and learn how to manage your life with the following ideas. Take time to de-clutter your life. This opens a door to fresh decision-making opportunities. Decide right away on the things that you would want to pursue. Do not think too much whether you are going to make the right choice or not. Thinking of many options and possibilities will just make you feel more overwhelmed. Create order. Order creates clarity of thought. It allows you to have a better memory of where you placed all the things you need at work or at home. If you are forgetful about appointments, have a list of their details in a small sheet of paper. Post it in places where you could be easily reminded of your engagements. Use systems. Planning your life with systems can do you good especially in saving your energy, money and time. Systems allow you to manage your workload without stressing yourself out. By using checklists, you will be guided in executing repeatable actions that will take you closer to accomplishing your daily chores faster. Create a positive atmosphere. Your environment can greatly affect how you manage your life. Negative surroundings usually hamper the completion of certain tasks. Thus, you expend more time and efforts in simple task accomplishments. Remove anything in your house or workplace that distracts your focus and impedes the flow of happiness. Welcome things that can energize your place. Soon you will see a more appealing, comfortable and functional environment embracing you. Deal with Incomplete tasks. These could be chores or personal projects that keep you from moving forward. Jot them down and have an action plan for each the soonest possible time. Humans generally feel depressed when they see unaccomplished tasks piling up in front of them. Don’t wait for this to happen to you. It will only zap the enthusiasm out of your life. Say no. If you are surrounded by a lot of duties and engagements, stop for a while and think of your priorities. Pick those that are in line with your priorities and just say no to do the rest. Remember you could only do so much in a 24 hours and so focus on the things that will improve your life. Comments are closed.
